I have a 3 year old eclipse deck that has recently been malfunctioning. Every few days, the volume will suddenly turn down to zero. And every time I turn it back up, it will go down again.  This only happens sometimes, so I figure that it must be some type of faulty connection. CD players are expensive to get looked at and worked on, so if anyone has any knowledge of what might cause a problem like this, or has any idea of where to find answers, please help!

Eclipse hu are more trouble than the are worth in my opinion retire that unit and get you something that you can have replaced over the counter if something was to happen to it.

Eclipse head units are worth every penny for the person who likes their audio. Any brand can have a failure and with 8 years of selling Eclipse I cannot say that I have ever heard of that problem. Eclipse has a 3 year warranty if it was purchased and installed by an authorized dealer, check to see if it is still under warranty. Have you pressed the reset button on the front yet?

Teamrf, why do you think they are more trouble than they are worth?
