strapping wires?

Okay, I know it's good practice to strap your wires every so inches/feet. Is it necessary to have it attatched to the body of the car? I don't want to have to drill holes in my car every time i strap the wires, would it be okay to use double-sided tape on those strap-holders (forgot what theyre called, those white squares that you attatch straps to)? Need to know soon cause my spring break is gonna start on wednesday, and I'm shopping as soon as my last final is done. Thanks in advance!

what are you running the wire for? I think that you would be ok though just placing where you can....I would think that over time the adhesive would become un-sticky

Thank you for the compliments, I take pride in doing my own work, as would anybody.

As for the wires, I'm talking about all wires running down the car (i.e. power wire, rca's, remote, speaker, etc.). I have the power running down the left side (thinking about running it under the carpet), 2 rca's and remote wire running down the right side, speaker wire from amp to front speakers down both sides, and power wires for headrest monitors down halfway both sides. I just want to know if strapping TO the car is at all important.

Also, another question, is it okay to step down from 12g to whatever the stock gauge speaker wire is (for up to 75 watts rms)? I'm thinking of running the amp back to the harness because i don't see anyway of getting into the doors without having to drill holes. And if I do run the front, I should run the rear back to the harness as well also, correct?

I think that a few straps would be ok, the cable once ran shouldn't move to much, and as far as the wire size, and as far as your wiring  with the little amount of power you plan on putting through it, the stock wire should be fine

as long as your running your wires under your carpet or out of the way from feet and arms, you really only need to strap wire in order to keep it away from some other obsticale in the car (ie, motors, door locks, other wires.) as for the wire itself you can use 16ga wire for your subs and most stock wiring is plenty for any mid or high range speakers you can find and power.
