Right now i've got 4 power acoustik fubr 10's and a gothic series 1600 watt amp. It sounds great, but the subs and amp aren't really the greatest match. I have been tossing around the idea of keeping one or two of the 10's, and powering them with the 1600 watt amp. Then get one or two 15's to put in and buy a seperate amp for them. They will be going into a ford explorer so space isn't much of an issue. Any ideas for subs, amp, enclosure, and how to set it up? I listen mostly to rap and I am especially concerned about SPL. But at the same time I don't want it to sound like crap. Also keep in mind that I am not rich, because if I was I would probably just buy a few Adire Brahma 15's.:D
(As of right now I am looking at a couple of 15" Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2's)
you usually dont wanna mix and match. If you are going for SPL, get 15.. or 18s. I'm not sure if JL makes the 18W3 anymore, but that thing would be badass. HX2's are pretty nice, but, there are alot of choices out there. Alpine makes 15" Type R's. MA Audio has some 15's. I love MA. They are very nice, sound good, pound hard, and with 1600 watts, you can do some damage in the competitions. Let me know what you decide.
