Cerwin Vega hands down. Audiobahn is overpriced IMO for what you get, unless of course you were building a system entirely on looks. Cerwin Vega has over 50 years in the business, i trusted them for home theater speakers, i would most defintely choose them for car audio as well.

Still i would have to choose Vega. Even on a price level, Cerwin Vega has more boom for the buck IMO. Audiobahn seems to be quite expensive to me.

I can only speak with a little bit of experience. I have only had Audiobahn for about a month now, but they ROCK. I haven't owned 'Vega before but as everyone can attest, they are great too. Alot of people down play Audiobahn 'cause of price, but if you find them at a steal, how can you go wrong? I bought mine off Ebay from a guy who only had the amp (A275HCT), subs (AWI25IT) and Tsunami 1 Fd cap for like 4 months. Cost him well over $1500 installed at Circuit City ( I have all his receipts including 4 year warranty). I got it all, including sealed enclosure, for $500. I researched Audiobahn for months and read all the pros and cons about them. I have only had "newbie" problems (since I have been out of the game for ten yrs) with it all. I strongly recommend them because of my own experience. Attn All Haters: Please dont "beat me up" for my opinion

I'm not gonna beat you up... too much.. heh. No i actually like some of the Audiobahn product line. I like the way they made their digital Cap look like an amp. But yeah if you can find it at a decent price, it all come down to personal preference. If the two product lines were equally priced, my gut insticnt would still be to go with Vega, only because of personal experience and because of the company's credibility. I'm not saying Audiobahn has no credibility, but a friend of mine has 2 Audiobahns, and i'm not impressed. My single 10" MTX Black Gold still impresses me with something new daily. (I realize MTX isn't a company being scrutinized here, but it is just an example) Like some song, or beat that it plays better than i would ever expect out of a single 10in sub. My friend has two 10in Audiobahns and they just don't seem to compare. Even set up perfectly, i wasn't impressed. Like all of these posts end up finishing with, it all comes down to what you want / need / like.

Along with the cost of drivers, you have to estimate the cost of the amplifiers to power them. I know Auidobahn all seem to have a high power handling, Cerwin Vega isn't as high, but it doesnt seem to to take much to make them do their job. Look into that as well as total system cost, and the space needed to make it all work effectively.

heyh man, stay away from audiobahn, garbage i stuck up for that sh*t company when i had it, until they acted like dicks, i have the awt15X sub, 3000RMS, i put 1, memphis mc1000d on it, and it fried in one hour, box were to exact specs, 4 gauge wire, 150 amp fuse, hook up perfect, cone froze completey, called audiobahn, they told me tough luck, i bought it form a local dealer for 1300 bucks, just because i wanted the warrenty, well, what a waste of 1300 bucks, i could have bought it off ebay for 500, this is canadian by the way, which is still expensive, but thats what they cost in canada, anyways, when i called them new wave(the distributor) the warrenty called told me if i would have had a cap, the voice coil would have not fried, that was the funniest and dumbest thing i have ever heard, right there goes to show how much audiobahn knows about car audio, there company should be destroyed, worst company ever, go buy pyrmaid, last longer then sh*tbahn does, thres my expeerience with the worst pieces of car audio in my life, i hate it, and will never buy it agian, i will never reccommend it anybody wither, i hope somebosy from audiobahn sees these post, just they realize how sh*t there company is!!!!!

dont know what everyone else has to say bout CV but I have all my highs done with their stealth series and I'm very pleased. I dont know how good their subs are but I haven't ever heard of anyone who says "stay away from Cerwin Vega, they suck" so I imagin their pretty good with the subs. Audioblah screwed neon over so if your looking for a company that will honor a warranty you will want to look else where.

neon, i find it hard to believe that if you bought your sub from a local dealer, they had you call up audiobahn to get your warranty. usually the local dealer will  take the damaged product and send it back to the company to get it repaired or replaced.  then for them to give you an excuse is again highly unlikely, and even further unlikely is that they blamed it on a capacitator.

personally i think your story is a little off or your not telling the whole truth

and to southside, man CV makes some nice equipment and so does audiobahn, agreed audiobahn needs more power=more money but they are louder, it all depends on what you are looking for

i would go check out the products in local showrooms to further your research and understanding before you actually purchase your audio equipment

RE:  Audiobahn or Cerwin-Vega!?

I used CV 15" woofers in my home system since '85.  They rocked 10 years before the surrounds went.  Great tone.  So I decided to go with CV again when I upgraded the car.  I used a 12" HED DVC that Millionbuy was auctioning for $39. https://www.cerwinvega.com/products/mobileaudio/index.html

Excellent low end, plenty of SPL.  Fit into a small, sealed box (I made it at .89 cu.ft. and used Acousta-Stuf).  I'm using it as an 8 ohm driver bridged onto 2 channels of a small (400.4) Profile Clarus amp https://www.thezeb.com/detail.aspx?ID=3512, so it presents only a 4 ohm load to the amp.  It hits so hard that I can't even imagine the setups you guys are talking about!

Find yourself an Authorized Eclipse dealer, they are not available on line and if found on line have no warranty. Do not buy from an unauthorized e-tailer. Those Eclipse subs wail and have amazing sq.
