I need help on how to remove the factory radio in the 2004 Frontier.  I knew how to remove the panel in the 98-01 Frontiers, but now, it has been modified.  Does anyone have any ideas or know of a site where I can be redirected to?  Nowhere I have looked gives me info on the newer models of Frontiers.

Please Help

I have the instruction guide for an aftermarket install kit here.  It says:  1.  Carefully lift upward on trim around shift lever and remove trim.  2. Remove phillips screws from lower front edge of radio/climate control trim bezel.  3. Remove phillips screws from above radio.  4.  Carefully remove radio/climate control trim bezel.  5. Remove phillips screws securing radio to sub-dash.  6. Carefully pull radio forward, disconnect wire harness and antenna lead, and remove radio.

Sounds pretty straight-forward to me.  I have a new Kenwood unit to install, and these were the instructions that came with the double-din adapter kit.   When it comes to changing recievers, there really isn't much to it.  Follow the directions, get yourself a wiring harness kit and some splices, follow the directions, and it's easy money.

The instruction manual states that this is for 02-03 Frontiers and Xterras.  I don't know if the 04's are different; I doubt it since the 05 is a total restyle for the Fronty, but you never know.  But hey, I'd go with it.  Tear it up.  Make it yours!
