Is the Negative battery Post just chassis grounded?  Someone mentioned upgrading the wire to the same size as your power wire running to your amps etc.  Where is the wire usually run to?  Can I just take some 4g wire to match my power, hook it up to Neg. post, run 1ft. of it and ground it to the chassis?

Thanks all!

Your battery ground can be upgraded by purchasing a larger (like 1/0) battery cable designed for your car and replacing the factory original.  It will come with a new negative battery clamp and be the right length to connect it to the standard factory location.  If you are only running 4 AWG power wire, you probably don't need to increase the size of your battery ground.  Can't hurt, though.

someone mentioned that its the "best bang for your buck" because everything is looping back through it. And is often overlooked.  Is that valid?  IE. will the couple bucks it cost help the power / ground flow of my system.

Thanks

I don't know about "best bang for buck," but yes, it could help your power flow.  What it will do is keep the OEM battery cable from heating up under full load.  Like I said, it can't hurt, but unless your car is old, or you are running a large system with an upgraded alternator pushing 200 amps, it is probably unnecessary.

The "best bang for the buck" as far as improving power systems goes in my opinion is to use one gage latrger than required power and ground cables to avoid possible heat issues.  The BIGGEST bang for any bucks is a high-output alternator.
