Am am purchasing a single Kicker 10" L7 (Dual 4 ohm), a JBL BP600.1, and building my own sealed enclosure according to the "Compact" measurements in Kicker's owners manual(.66 cu ft). This will be going into a '01 Ford Escape in the cargo area. Yes, space is an issue(I have to transport a pet carrier and folding stroller on occasion), and no, I am not considering ported. I am more SQ than SPL if that matters(I like loud bass, but it HAS TO sound good!). I plan to wire the sub parallel, creating a 2 ohm load.

Does anyone have a similar setup or opinions about my choice of sub, amp, and box combo? Thanks.

That sounds good to me, just keep the gain setting on your amp low enough to where SQ will be good and should be great...

I hope you aren't committed to the Kicker sub.  You want SQ over SPL.  Look over the posts in this forum for some good suggestions.  The amp is a winner.

that will get you decent SQ but to achieve better SQ it would be wise to stay away from kicker equipment because they are SPL heavy

Ditto to the above, the L7 will pump out very large amounts of SPL.  But if you are interested in SQ, look at Eclipse, Xtant, Memphis, JBL, Infinity, or even Adire.

haha Very true... Kicker is true to the SPL but lacks SQ
