My buddy drives a 90 tercel and has an orion cs100.2 amp in the back running his 4 in soundstream components. He recently had his deck out of the car so he could install an eq. When he had the deck out he was driving and noticed he was getting ground noise out of his speakers. The amplifiers are not turned on when this happens. We unpluged the RCA's and the noise persisted. I have checked the grounds and they seem to be fine. They are going to a unpainted piece of metal where they are screwed down. I am suspect to the amp being the problem but I was looking for opinions first because the amp is part of a custom install and is a bit of a pain to unhook and take out.

Move the crossovers and or speaker wires, they may be inducting noise into the signal chain. Are the crossovers mounted anywhere near a computer?
