Hi,I have 2 12" Directed Comp-X's rated at 1,600 watts RMS each.... On saturday my 3rd Competition Class "D" amp burned up and I am out a amp once again now!! I have been searchin for a new one and for the price, wattage, and size of amp I have found the new Concept CC-D2400 2400W RMS X 1 @ 1 ohm Amp and I was wondering if this would be good for my set-up?? Also, I have heard that this amp can run up to 3,000w RMS but I don't know weather to believe that or is this amp just as bad as a junk Pyramid amp??? I am picking it up wholesale for around $290 shipped...... PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!

Thanks A Lot,
Brett

They are a new company and have made some sweet dvd screen decks for competitive prices, i don't see why there amps would be crap.  So far they look to be an excellent company that builds "true" power products.   But others may have there experience.

Concept is GARBAGE. I have an authorized dealer in town hear and I talked to my buddy who works there and all that concept garbage breaks. Those amps are highly unreliable and Im talking like, they may be running at 2 ohms and last mabye 10 hours of play time I know people who bought those big ass 2400 watt monsters when they came out and went through like 4 of them before the store moved them into a rockford or in some cases two rockfords. PS Retail on those amps in the city was about 2300 bucks but they discounted the shiit out of them to like 1100 bucks. I bet they were still at 50 points. If I had the coice I would probally just light my 300 dollars on fire instead of buying that amp.

Hmmm, I have a customer running the CCD2400 with 3 CXE12 subs and it has not missed a beat in 2 years...., matter of fact the only problem he has had was the Eclipse cd player, 56050 the indash 6 disc with a known problem. Some of the Concept subs had tinsel lead issues, that problem has long been resolved but as a dealer in Canada, Concept has a 3 year warranty and 1 year exchange if there is a problem, thus the customer was never ever left out in the dark, at least for us he never was. We had very few failures of Concept amps, way way fewer in comparison to Rockford. The subs, well after the tinsel lead issue we sold other subs until the tinsel lead problem was solved, then it was back to business as normal. FYI, the Concept amp in question was never sold for $1100 @ 50 points, please let's not get insuting here. Here in Canada there is laws to protect the consumer from excessive markup and from you have posted above would seem contradictory to that law. I'm sure your friend would have been aware of this, and at no point in time was the amp ever worth the $2300.00 like was mentioned above, that would be just plain ripping off a customer and I'm sure no reputable dealer would be interested in doing that. Normally I don't have issues with people who post, but when the statements are highly exaggerated, facts must be presented to contradict misleading statements. If you are concerned about warranty and any purchase, then you should buy the amp of your choice from an authorized dealer, that way any warranty issue can be resolved properly. Let's see if my customer blows up his Concept, he gets a new one, the new model at that, I think that is pretty good service.

PS, suggested retail on that CCD2400 from an authorized dealer was $1499.00, if bought properly by a dealer it sold for $1299.00, when it was on clearout, it dropped to $999.00.

First off I was kinda being sarcastic about the whole 50 points thing. I know as well as you they arent that bad. But I can also say for certain that the dealer in town WAS taggin that amp at 2400 dollars when they got them and kep them tagged at that. I also know that they still have a couple that are tagged at 1600 right know . So if retail is 1500 bucks I would like to think that mabye their distributors would probally like to know. Being as though I am only going off second hand information, since I dont actually work with the stuff, I have to say that your side of the story sounds far more promising for the brand. However I cant ignore the numerous customers I stole from that shop because their amps went smokey smokey in thier trunk for no aparent reason.

I could sense the sarcasm, no worries, not offended. I also like the competition for smoking numerous Kicker amplifiers as of late. Most of the time when an amp goes smokey smokey it is because it is being asked to do a job that it was not designed for. It really sounds like the other shop just did not know what the amps could and could not do, no offence intended to the other shop or your friend who works there. Granted the subs sucked a$$ but they sounded great and some never came back, but the vast majority that did fail always got looked after for the customer. The new generation of subs have highly surpassed the level of build quality in the old subs. The new amps are awesome, just great.
