I'm thinking of putting together a bandpass crossover for my 'rear fill' 6x9's.  (Putting some old equipment to use, I guess.)  Anyway,

1) Has anyone tried this?  Success?
2) What frequency points should I use?   80-500hz?
3) Where online can I find audio grade crossover parts (coils, caps, etc.)?

Thanks in advance

1.  Yes, this is relatively easy to do if you know how to build passive crossovers.

2.  If all you're trying to do is get some mid-bass fill, then that's fine.  If your 6X9's are coaxials or 3-ways, I'd disconnect the tweeter (and mid).

3.  www.partsexpress.com has great crossover components, and some good tutorials if you need them.  If you want absolute high-end audiophile components, try www.northcreekaudio.com for some of the best in the world.

Have fun, and remember when building passive crossovers it's a good idea to get a few extra components that are close in ratings so in case you need to make a few adjustments, you have the parts available.
