My clarion vrx925vd is in the shop getting repaired(unknown on when it is going to be done) and recently as some of you know i got my new subs and amp installed.  Right now i got an OLD (maybe 6+ years) pioneer in there right now.  System freakin rocks the house down the street.  Question is, when i get my clarion back will the 4volt pre out on that HU effect my system? and how?  Another question is what is the differnce between 4 volt and 2 volt preouts?  I ask this because I was thinking of selling my clarion and getting a Kenwood DDX7015, mainly because i hate the motorized screen and i want a clean looking dash. As always thanks for any advice and input...I just love this board ever since I found it.

The difference is (and this sounds really obvious, so sorry) that the output voltage can go higher.  This means the preamps in the Clarion simply have higher voltage capability.  Will it sound better?  Not necessarily, but it will send a signal less subject to outside interferrence.

How will the change affect your system?  You will HAVE to readjust your amplifier input gain.  The new HU will send a signal at twice the relative level of the old, so your gain should be turned down by about half from where it is now.  Install your new HU then go through a gain setting procedure for your sub amp (and other amps you may have.)
