Here is my problem. i recently installed an amp and a capacitor in my Nissan Skyline.( a car that has many wiring problems to begin with). When I turn off the car the capacitor and the amp stay on. This causes the amp to stay hot constantly and just recently my batterey finally ate it. Someone told me that the remote wire could be hooked up to the wrong fuse. Is this possible. Also when the key is off and even out of the ignition I can open the face on my Kenwood receiver and I can push the eject button for the CD player and it will still work, even with the car turned off. I thought this might just be the left over power in the cap but I could be wrong. Can any body help me and hopefully give me an answer that someone else hasnt already tried?
It is hard to find tech support when you live in Japan and don't speak Japanese.
Your capacitor might be drawing current in the OFF position. Check with a DMM to see if there is a current draw after you turn off your car and for how long. Your Kenwood deck seems to be wired HOT . All you have to do is find the ignition wire ( which is probably wired to the constant ) and wire it properly to an ignition source.

I have a sony head unit that does the same thing (opens and ejects while the car is off). It turned out to not be a problem of wiring. It was an actual feature that allows you to remove a cd without turning the car on. The Stereo wont play, it just ejects. If the stereo plays with the key out of the ignition, then you are wired HOT. But if it is only open/eject then it is a feature of your headunit.
As for the amp staying on, check you're wiring for the remote lead. If you hooked it to the constant 12v source, then the amp will always be on. If you wired it properly to the headunit, then installing a simple toggle/rocker switch on the line will allow you to manually turn it on and off.

sumone on another forum mentioned a similar problem...current draw with car off...he removed cap from circuit, didnt have the problem any more...turned out his cap was poked aparantly....that or all the other answers evryone else has already covered :)
You need to find out if the cap is drawing amps or if the amp is . Use a DMM to check current draw or try re-wiring your remote . Also did you charge your cap when you installed it ??
