Alright so here is the deal, i went out to replace my vr series speakers with componet speakers with crossovers .... the speakers got here, took out the tweeters and installed them first in the factory location... (94 accord) ( front of the dash near the corner up against the front window) .. I'm planning on throwing in the crossovers and the woofers real soon, im very pleased with the sound quality even without the crossovers and the correct speakers... but i just realized something... how are the tweeters powerd if there are no crossovers... i have aftermarket everything in my car, how are they still connected to the system if they were a part of the factory system??? Are they connected to the HU or something?? Is there some secret crossover somewhere hidden in the deep depths of the dash or soemthing??? I didnt install my deck or speaker amp,but i did everything else so i do know a fair about my car. but im baffeld how the tweeters power up and sound like tweets and nothing goes wrong except for a little bottoming at high volumes but this is expected because i dont have the real crossover in there... And if there is some kinda amp or something or crossover somewhere i would like to know where it is

In most cases the tweeters are wired in parallel with the door speakers, usually in the door attached to the woofer, but in some cases in the deep dark depths of the dashboard. While there are some circumstances where this is not the case, like a fully amplified system, a lot of basic components are wired in this fashion. The crossover for those caps is none other than a basic cap wired inline on the positive speaker lead somewhere between the source unit and the tweeter itself. In some cases it is attached directly to the tweeter. In some cases, like the fully amplified system, it is inside of the amplifier.
