would it matter if i had .25 cu ft extra in a box for my subs. i have infinity kappa perfects 12.1d ( 2 ) and i am tryin to make the box 1 cu ft per chamber

is this before or after sub displacement? And do you mean .25 cu ft for each speaker?

If it's a sealed enclosure, yes it matters.  If it's ported, not so much.  I suggest you reduce your internal volule by adding solid filler inside the enclosure, such as additional braces or additional pieces of MDF bolted to one wall.  I have even in a pinch glued bricks to the bottom of an enclosure to take up space.  Getting the size correct is critical to proper performance, and you want it to be within +/- 10% of your target.
