Hiya,

Is there a remote amplifier turn-on signal from the newer Honda / Acura's stock stereos which have no external antennas?

Its because their antenna's are part of the rear defogger.

No.  The antenna is the top portion of the rear window.  It is not integrated into the defogger.  They are close to each other, but seperate

Hi raydawg357,

Thanks for the clarification.

Is there factory radio wire that I can use as a remote turn-on lead?

Sure, tap into your accessory wire which is the yellow/red wire in the harness.

Hmmm, won't that be turning on the amp with the car and not the stock head unit?

Which would result in a turn-on thump because the radio will be turned on after the amp is?

There's no signal from the stock head unit to remote turn-on?

You won't get a thump.  Your OEM radio doesn't have a remote turn on, your accy wire is your only alternative.

Howdy all,

Actually, I did some research and found out that Directed makes a remote turn-on lead for OEM radios.

Its called a Remote Power Adapter Part # 55000

https://www.directed.com/audio/essentials/audio/default.asp

Audio Adapters
The Remote Power Adapter and Speaker Level to RCA Adapter each won the coveted CES Innovations Award and deservedly so! The former provides an amplifier switching solution captured directly from any speaker wire with a 2-3 second delay. Two or more Remote Power Adapters can create a component turn-on sequence when the system includes signal processors. (Much better than a relay for turningon amps!)

Thanks for the help!
