i just traded my 9813 for the new 9831 and i keep havng the same problem when i leave my car off for a long time it seems like the amp in the radio goes into protection.........my subs still hit but no highs. the vehicle is a 03 bmw 325 i can either reset the radio and lose my settings or when i turn the defeat on then off the sound comes back. i tried defecting out the radio i have the same problem i checked my wiring many times but no problem there ................i never had the problem w/ the 9813 i was wondering if it could be a software glitch? j/w if ne one had any ideas thanks in advance

that shouldn't happen, bring it back for a replacement.

uhhh, nope, maybe check your speakers connections, make shure you don't have a corosion problem, or a pinched wire. I would go crazy and check everything, if not re do everything.

i had a similar problem with the 9813, it could actually be your oem in your bmw clipping, at least thats what happened to me until i replaced my oem amp with a aftermarket 4 channel. have you upgraded your speakers to aftermarket speakers? just a lil input

if you have not bypassed the factory amp then that is your problem. you are sending signal into oem amp and that causes problems. it's kind of like taking an amp and running the speaker outputs of that amp into another amp and then to the speaker. find it and bypass it. ------------- if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway
