i was just wandering what the best way to aim my subs would be. i have 3 12s facing up at the roof in the very back of my blazer. a guy at my work said its best to aim them back or down. just  wandering what you guys opinions where and why. thanks for the help.

It all depends on the vehicle, really.  I have found in a lot of SUV type cars that facing the subs backward and upward, towards the back glass works well however it isn't always the case.

Furthermore if you have an EQ or crossover that can adjust the phase of the signal then you can change the phase to suit the location and facing direction of the subs.

I am curious as to what he means by facing them down (?).  Where would you face them down from, the ceiling of the vehicle?

no. a downfiring box. i put 4 pieces of 2x4 cut 3 1/2" long on each corner of the box and flipped it over. it hits lower. could this hurt my subs?
