Should i just hook up the distrobtuion block and hook up 2 amps?

???
you can never have too much power, you could put a 5000 watt amp on a single 8 and never blow it. now if you get stupid with it yes you can blow anything. you can put a 100 watt amp on ummm.....lets just use the Jl 13W7 for example. you can blow a JL 13W7 with a 100 watt amp. sound impossible? it's not. power does not blow subs, distortion does when you make a sub distort, you are slowly tearing it apart. that's why amps come with gain, LPF, bass boost, and a million other types of controls. this lets you adjust the amp so that it's not distorting your sub. could you imagine if you bought a 1000 watt amp and as soon as you hook it up its a straight 1000 watts no matter what you have it hooked up to. i don't think car stereo would be a very big if that was the case. just adjust your amp to your liking, actually the more head room you have(head room being more power than what you sub is rated for) the cleaner you sub is going to sound. because you're not working the amp as hard as say one that had exactly the power that your sub needs. hope this helps. oh yeah, don't use your gain a volume control on your sub, adjust your deck to the volume you listen to music at and then adjust your amp to the level you want.

what!?!?! you want some??
Headroom is a good thing IF you know what you're doing and if you are using high quality equipment, yes. But too small an amp blowing speakers is, I will say again, complete and utter BS.
I get real tired of repeating myself, so I'll use this good website's explaination. Please read. https://www.bcae1.com/2ltlpwr.htm
