Hey fellow shop owners, having a tuff time selling new product?  Trouble competing the the big box store.   I have what I hoped would be customers come in and boast about the new free systems.  Seems they get a company credit card, buy their stuff, beat on it for 28 days, and then return it( no question return policy)  then go to the next store and do it again.  Bad enough, they use the stuff for nothing, the store then turns around and sells the product a big discount,  Bang two lost sales for the price of one.  Is the store getting screwed, yup, but so are the rest of us. Can't wait till someone gets brave enough to claim stuff stolen after returning it.  Customer service is great, when not taken to extremes.

I work at future shop and have not had this come up before. We do have a return policy thats pretty damn liberal but I havent ran into anybody doing this kind of thing. Also, were these guys installing the stuff themselves because they cant return install once its been preformed. I can also say that the stores will catch on eventually and even though we do offer that return policy we can rufuse a customer if they are abusing it. I have seen it done with a guy "renting camcorders" from us. Also as far as the stolen thing goes, we had a guy try to return stolen product, and to make it even better he stole it out of a guys car who works for us. The guy happens to be a customer service kid and he was the one that was doing the return. He reconized the amp and matched up the serial number with his amp, being the serial number was recorded on the computer. The police were called and he was charged with possesion of stolen property. Supid kids
