2 gage and then split to 4 sounds like a good idea for power.  Be sure to use 4 gage for ground on each amp too.  8gage is WAYYY overkill for speaker wire, but sure you could use it if you want to.

i definately agree with 8ga speaker wire being over kill. not only in the electronics, but i think it looks too large for setups, i personally like the look of 10 ga in setups but many people use 12 ga

I'd go 1/0 to the dist block then 4awg to the amps then 4awg grounds to a ground dist block. then 1/0 to the frame. run some extra grounds from your batt to the frame as well 4awg will do if you run 2 of them. sa far as speaker wire with 8awg you can do that if you want to. I run 8awg for my 8 12's. mostly just for looks. I have them inverted and the wires thru powder coated spark plug wire looms. looks cool. it is over kill but i like over kill.

1/0 feed wire is more than needed and costs considerably much more. also the ground distro causes the ground wires to be longer and more chance that you'll have problems. ground distro's are mostly for looks in my opinion, i always suggest using seperate grounds for everything when possible.
