On my SC300:
I want to tap somewhere for a signal for my amp.
Can I tap the leads going to the factory subwoofer speaker?? (the ones exiting the subwoofer's amp)

I did this beofre and the system worked great for about a year then the amp for the the bazooka tube went out on me, I used another amp I had lying around, and that worked for about 6 months....

Is taping the factory sub for a signal killing my amps, or was it a coincidence???

Thanks
Ken

hey man, i honestly don't think that this is killing your amps, if that was the case thay would not last as long as they are lasting, and yes you can tap in from the factory subs, but it is better to run straight from the unit!

I mean i guess it is a possibility that this could be hurting the amps through out time but i just don't see it but than again i know it is possible, how many ohms, are the subs your hooking up to it, and what ohm is the amp?
how many watts are the subs and how many watts are the amps?

if you are taping the signal after your stock amp then yes it is hurting your powered subs and amps, you need to tap the signal before any amps, even when you are using a "high input" the sub amp would make the signal higher than is reccomended for the "high inputs"

Use a high quality LOC that is adjustable.  https://www.davidnavone.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=N-7V  is very good.  Run 2 colors of 20 ga. wire, twisted to 1 to 2 twists per inch, all the way up to the head unit, and find the outputs of the rear speakers left and right.   Attach to the N-7V close to the new amp.  Not a good idea to continue to use the same wiring plan as before with two known failures.
