I have two polk momo 10" subs that are rated at 500 watts rms and are svc and want to run them in parallel at 2 ohms. Is the jbl too much or should i pay one hundred more to get the rockford. Or would the jbl bp600.1 be suffectient.?
They will be in a small box ... .7 cuft of air space per speaker
get the 600.1 or get the 1200.1 and turn it down if you plan on upgrading to better subs.Don't get the rockford amp the jbl 600.1 is a lot better than that rockford.
Ditto, JBL over RF every day of the week.

Thanks to everybody that replied... Im diffently gonna get the jbl bp1200.1
JBL subs over RF as well? DYohn, can I get a few other brand name recommendations from you?
Thank you.
JBL makes my current favorite subs for SQ. I used to LOVE RF amps and subs, but in recent years their quality seems to have suffered. Same for Kicker. As far as brand names goes, I actually try to push people towards SQ and quality construction, but that is not always what people want. For example, I don't like BOSS audio, although some of their new sub systems are great for SPL and for the money, some of thier equipment is quite good. The same company also makes Planet Audio, which I think are some of the best SQ products going, but which tend to cost too much. I love everything that has ever been produced by Nakamichi, but that's because I simply happen to like their attention to using the highest quality components. Many people don't like them because they are expensive and definately not flashy. It is all very subjective, actually.
Bottom line in my opinion: Don't buy ANYTHING based on brand name alone. NEVER buy based on specs. LISTEN to everything before you buy it. Buy ONLY from authorized dealers. Do your homework into your options. Find out the reputation of the company and of the equipment you are considering. Find the best compromise between the highest quality equipment that you like the sound of and what your budget will handle.
