On these head units with the V-drive amp. They required a 10 gauge wire kit. My question is. What if you are NOT using the internal amp, do you still need to use a 10 gauge wire.

no you do not need to use a 10 guage wire if you are not using the amp.  All you will be using the HU for is running CD's and and the crossovers inside the HU.  And really all you need for wire for the HU is another wire hooked up to your 12V wire in your ignition harness to tap into the yellow 12V wire of the HU.  Hope that helps...
