Im lookin at subwoofers now, im considering Alpines Type R, Fosgates HE2 again, or else a CompVR. Unless anyone else has any good suggestions, but those are my main 3. Shall we compare? I have a single sub set up, so i need dual 2 ohm vc. Im running the subwoofer off a Fosgate 401s at 400wrms @ 4ohms.

You might want to check out the Orion line.  They offer quite a few options for what you are looking for, and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.  Personally, I have never liked the Fosgates.  I have known to many people that have had a lot of problems with them.  So, I would stay away from them if I was you.  Here is a site for the Orions.

i've got a pair of compvr 10's dual 2 ohm. they slam, i've got them in a small sealed box and i guarantee they hit every note low to high with perfect clarity.  these are probably the loudest subs i have ever had and i've had a lot of  different systems.  my last 3 have all been kicker subs. i went from 2 comp 12's to 3 comp 12's to 2 compvr 10's and the 10 are the loudest. although my amp is unbelievable.  it's 130 x2 @ 4 ohms and 1300 x 1 @ 1/2ohm.

got with the compvr's man, they have a clean sound and slam too

I'm trying to make a similar decision for a single 12.  I  too am torn between the Type R, CompVR, and Pheonix Gold Tantrum.  The Alpine is by far the best for SQ, although the CompVR is better for SPL.  The Tantrum is in between, but only available in single 4 ohm VC, I want duel 2 ohm.  My only concern is if my amp is enough for the Alpine, which takes the most juice to jiggle!  Im like 90% for the Alpine, just have to make a final decision.

well.... if u have a 400w amp right now go with 2 CVR 10s like he said up top unless u want 1 then get a CVR 12 i mean 200 on a CVR 12 or type r 12 is just wrong if u want 2 12s get like a 1000w amp then get em other wise get some 10s...or for the price of 2 10s u could prob find a 10 or 8in L7 that would do... just athought

heres wut i would do.... but all 3 of the subs u want at the same time.... throw them all in the car on the same amp and see wut one u like

send em back tell em u want to exchange them for whatever u want.. andu want a refund on the 3rd b/c of "financial issues" or something like that
