I am about to pull my deck and run my power (4awg) and RCA and remote for my sub box (JL Audio Stealthbox) which should be here this week.

Since I am going to have to run 1 set of RCA's, is it ok to run all 3 sets, so that down the road (6 months?) If I install an amp for my mids/highs, I will already have the wires run. Is this a bad idea, I mean is it going to pick up noise and stuff and not be worth it? Should I run the cables and just not hook them to the back of the deck maybe (maybe tape them inside the console? Just trying to save myself some extra work down the road, I have the RCA's..........I just hate taking my car apart to run cables.

I am running the power with a 4awg to 8awg fused block and I am using a ground distribution block, so all the power and grounds will be ready to go for the installation of a 2nd amp down the road.

Thanks for your advice!

Brian

no problem at all... it is a good idae to do so anyway... it does indeed save work down the road.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Run your cables, hook them to the deck, and make sure the other ends are insulated go they won't ground out or touch each other.  If they come with rubber caps, leave them on.  If they don't have caps, insulate them with electrical tape (insulate each one individually.)

I say run them now, there's no sense in making things harder than needed down the road. Just don't hook them up to the deck yet. If they touch eachother or something metal in the car I think it could do a lot of damage to the head unit.

Definately run them now but do not hook them up to the headunit until you are ready to run signal and be careful so that the ends do not get damaged.  And get some Monster Cables (Awesome)

i agree with bfletcher, i would run them but don't them up, you run the risk of damaging the RCA's or the deck, you can't hurt anything if neither end is getting a signal. just run them but leave them unhooked.
