I was wondering if I can have both cassette and CD HUs in my truck. I dont want to go for the 2 in one available since then I will not have too many options for the HU. How can I do it? Will just connecting the wires from the cassette directly to the corresponding wires in the CD harness do the work? Any suggestions/ideas? thanks!

As far as I know it cant be done withuot using a seriously expensive switcher. Mabye I am wrong on this. Im sure forbidden or Dyohn will know for sure

The only thing you will need is a speaker level switcher so you cannot connect the amplified outputs from one head to the outputs of the other. There are lots of selections out there, some very expensive and some for a couple of dollars. The two heads can share power, etc. If you're running amps, the switcher becomes a bit more complicated, but is still readily available. ------------- Support the12volt.com

it can also be done very cheaply if you know anything about relays....i've done it with a couple of dpdt relays and used the remote out of one of the decks to trigger the relay. that way if the relay is wired right, there is no possible way the two decks can beconnected to the speaker outputs at the same time ------------- if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway

Right on about the switcher, you can share power and grouns all day long, but you cannot share the speaker leads. I have never tried this ans amtter of fact it just struck me as I did this in a house, a pair of home audio A/B switches like the Niles ABA1D might just do the job for you, one for the front, one for the rear. Without diving into my books and phone calls to suppliers, I would imagine that there is a 4channel high level speaker switcher somewhere in existence. Good idea with the relay suggestion, there is absolutely no reason why it could not be made to work as well.

PIE makes a good switch circuit, not too expensive and does the job with both powered and pre outs.

i have like 50 old 1992 Magnadyne speaker wire switches. Universal wire colors and all..... i cant even sell them.... if you don't mind traveling.... i got what you need for under $5. I'm in ontario, Canada
