I'm pretty set on gettin a new alternator and battery. What brand of battery should I go with? I was thinkin Optima or Orbital.....

some people have started to turn away from optima since they change owners due to the fact that they think the quality has gone down. personally i dont know if their quality has changed. but you may also want to try the stinger batteries.

I have an Optima yellow top and love it however I have also installed some of the Stinger batteries and I like them a lot. They are small and powerfull.
