I am getting a sub system put into my 2002 honda accord.  I am putting two 12" L7 kickers with a kx 1200.1 kicker amp wired @ a 1 ohm load.  Will my stock deck be okay to run this on?  I dont want to have to chcnge decks because i like the stock one, but i dont want to blow the stock one out.  If anyone knows please let me know...

You won't "blow anything out" except maybe your eardrums.  If you are running your stock head with the stock amps, those subs will completely overpower the system, so you may not be able to hear it.  Or anything else, for that matter...

you dont have to worry about blowing your factory head unit, but if you were to purchase a aftermarket HU, you would then be able to use the sub output control,

not sure if you have ever noticed people rolling around listen to there system and the bass is turned up in all the mids in order to have the bass turned up for the subs...were if you had a aftermarket HU you would then be allowed to turn the bass up on the subs only rather than turning all the bass up...in the system

you will be fine running your factory hu, thats the only problem there would be...its up to you

good luck

You should be fine, at least add a good interface like the Cadence QXR-1 to give you some control of all that power. It will be a line driver, crossover, high level input adaptor (a must in this case), phase shift controlller and of course will give you a dash mounted sub level control to tame the output on those bad babies so you can at least hear your music.

i changed the factory head unit on my accord (98, same style as yours) because it would not read any burned cd's, but as others mentioned it was also beneficial in allowing me to control my subs, etc.

It would be pointless to have much power running to those powerful subs when you wont be able to hear anything else other than the thunder from the subs.  I would suggest you invest on an aftermarket radio because that HU will run more power to your speakers.  The factory HU is maybe running 3-5 watts to each speaker, the aftermarket HU will run about 20 watts.  If I were you, I would purchase the aftermarket HU.

Unless you don't care what your system actually sounds like IN your car, go for a good head unit.
