hey guys, i have a 1997 neon, iw ill be running a memphis mc1000d and a pioneer 4 channel amp, i have a yellow top battery, what size alternator will i need,

under the assumption that you will be running the memphis at 1 ohm, it will put out 1100 watts RMS. This alone is roughly 86 amps. I would look into an alt that is at least 120, closer to 150 amps.

ok, cool, i was gonna get 160, bu, what if i ad a another mc1000d which i will probably do, will 160 amps be enough

well if you have two amps pulling about 172 amps from your altenator it leave about -12amps for your car to draw from if you got the 160 amp alt. and the second amp. ------------- Quad L Handyman services

if you plan on adding another memphis amp, look into something in the general vacinity of 200 amps.

maybe the 210amp alt. just for a little over head. 200amp alt. will probally be cutting it a little close if you get the second amp.

ok, cool, i prcied one out in canada wher ie live, and they want 280 for a 160 amp alt, is that a lot? thats canadian prices
