I am trying to install a stereo system for the first time. I have a '92 chevy S-10, I have found all of the other wires just fine but I can't seem to find the accessory wire it is supposed to be yellow but I can't find it is there another wire I use instead of this one?

u need a test light. with the key on, test every wire. there should be two hot wires. then turn the key off. the on of the two that isn't still hot is your ignition wire.

installing a stereo.. like a head unit? If you have the wiring harness it should be bright and yellow and right there. if not, you'll be sitting there for a while with that stupid light. you can also just be ghetto like i've done before and run a wire from the fuse panel to something that turns on only when the car is on, and have that as the acc wire. but, i wouldnt recommend that. good luck.

Check your fuses, if one is blown, you won't get power to your accy wire. And if you do decide to run a wire from the fuse box, make sure you either fuse it or catch the none powered side of the fuse. This way if something goes bad, you will blow the fuse and not fry your wiring.
