Anyone have experience with plastic woofer enclosures? I have a 2000 Ford F150 Ext Cab. I haven't found a prefabricated box that will fit completely under the rear seats when the seats are down; however, MTX and QLogic sell a couple that will. I've heard from a few installers that the ABS plastic enclosures flex (unlike MDF boxes).

I have a bandpass box and i freaking love it it contains 2 JL w'0s and sounds unbeleivable, also the thing i like alot is i can have other items in my trunk and if they hit the sub they dont hit the speakers :)

OK bandpass is not the same thing as what he is talking about. I can say from experience that the mtx enclosers do not flex. I have used the encloser they make for the explorer and the neon and both worked quite well with the preinstalled subwoofer. What I wanna know is what sub do you plan on using because it could make all the difference

They don't flex. I've used a lot of them in different cars and as long as you use a sub that is designed for the sealed air space they have the sound is great. I've actually used the self amplified enclose designed for your truck in three system and it sounds really good, doesn't get very loud but what can you expect from a pair of eights.:0 ------------- Greg Stoddard

Probox makes a prefab box for your truck, it houses 2 10" subs, each side is aprox. 1 cu. ft. of air space, and fits under the seat by taking the center support under the back seat out, which the box will support it, and is a down fire box. I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, because i don't know what kind of low end you are trying to acheive, it houses most of your mainline lower end subs ( i.e. JL 10W0, Cerwin-Vega HED10, etc.) It will give you a considerable amount of bass this way, and you won't sacrifice any room besides the dead space under the back seat. Check with your local stereo shops, I'm sure one is bound to deal Probox. They are fabricated from MDF and are sprayed with a undercoat type material, in which are pretty durable. Hope this helps
