Anyone make there own?  I don't want to spend $90 on that JL aluminum thing, that looks like an RF grille anyway.   Just looking to get some simple ideas to build my own.

Simple ideas???

Well It depends on what resources you have on hand to build the grilles...

Anything that is going to be attached to a 12w7 has to be really sturdy... (Unless you don't plan on running it at high volumes... but, then what would the point be?)

Also what kind of  finish are you interested in??  Shiny chrome? Mate black?  etc etc?

Do you have a material in mind?  Metal, plexi, wood, etc?

I have nothing in mind as far as design or material.  The cars interior is black, and most everything is black.  SO I would probably either want an aluminum finish or a satin black.  I like the 3 little bar design but I can't find them.

i remember seeing a plexi grill for the 12w7 on ebay last year, but I'm pretty sure you can make your own out of what material you choose. It was the frame of the JL logo cut out of plexiglass (the outline of the logo, inside part cut out to let the air through). It looked pretty sick, and if I ever needed grills for my subs I would probably do something similar.
