Just got a DVC HE2 off ebay and only 1 voicecoil works. When it's working, there is a lot of rattling like something is just sliding up and down on the inside. Is there anyway to repair this or find out exactly where the problem is?

i had that problem before, look in the hole on the bottom of the sub, you will probably see the voicecoil flapping around

And yes, it's called "blown" in many circles.  It can be repaired (re-coned by an authorized shop) but I'd make the seller refund your money and ship it back.

Was it a new sub or reconditioned?  If you're going to order online, buy from a reputable dealer that provides full refunds and extends the manufacturor's warranty.

Supposedly it was new, but eBay covers ya for fraud anyway.  So I should be ok.

Actually eBay only covers you for fraud up to $200 but ONLY after you contact the seller and jump through all their hoops.  Paypal is the same.  Contact the seller and demand a refund!

It was someone personal.  And the person admitted they couldn't get bass from it, but didn't mention any rattling which is very very apparent.  I only paid $45 shipped for the sub, so I'm covered for it.  I did get gypped hardcore once, but I filed a police case so that should work out ok.  Paid $310, never got the item.  Ebay only paid back $175... so now the police in the area are getting involved.  I have the person's name, addresss, signature on the cashed check, you name it.
