I just recently ordered an XM ready radio and I would like to use that option. What exactly am I going to need to purchase along with it to get this setup? Im sure I need the antenna and the subscription but is there anything else?

If you want everything to work smoothly, then your gonna need a Sony XM Tuner. The tuner connects to the XM Ready deck to display characters and to control the stations with a BUS cable. I'm not certain if it is the same with Sony, but Pioneer makes 2 seperate models, one for XM ready decks, and one for FM modulation. Your going to want a tuner that works with a Sony XM Ready Deck. As you stated, your going to need an antenna (which will plug into the tuner). After installation is complete a radio ID number will show on the default channel which will be needed for activation. ------------- Bravadas are cool

You can get the xm kit from Best Buy, I live in Canada so I have very little experience with tthe systems. I have used two and they seem to sound good and work well but like I said that is based on very limited experience

Don't know much about sony but if it is like other radio manufacturers you will need the add-on XM modulex and the antena. From what I understand XM is pretty good. Personally I don't have any experience with XM but do have sirius which has a nice selection.

One thing I would recommend would be to get an antenna that is magnetized that fits on the top of your roof or trunk. I had an experience with an antenna that stuck to the side of the window with a seperate reciever directly across from it on the inside of the window, and its claim to fame was that there was no drilling (which you don't need to do with any of the antennas). This antenna was also very ugly, and the time that you saved from "not drilling" was spent wiring up the power to it. This is the only antenna that i know of that requires a power source, (the other, more convewntional ones do not need a power source.)
