Okay, here's the story, my gf's deck got jacked and the thieves cut the stock connector, so there's a mess of wires, I hard wired everything to the metra connector harness and plugged it in. the 7.5 amp fuse blew under the hood, I put another one in, it blew. So Right now I have a 15 amp fuse in there and hasn't blown yet. What harm can this do? Im actually a newbie when it comes to audio electronics. Someone told me that I may have to wire something straight from the fuse and use a 10 amp fuse at most in the slot??? I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO THIS..SOMEONE HELP!!!
NEVER PUT BIGGER FUSE SIZES IN THEN THE ORIGINAL. You are asking for a fire.
take it to a stereo shop and have them hardwire it for you, don't risk frying anything

What fuse did you blow and then increase? What is the head unit you installed? Some heads simply draw more current than others. If the fuse you blew is the factory radio fuse, then the above admonisions about possible smoke and flames are right on. :) Never, never, never just keep putting in bigger fuses until it doesn't blow any longer. That is, well, stupid. Sorry. If it is a fuse that was previously installed for another head, then perhaps you simply need to put the CORRECT one in for the system you now have.
