Hi I'm new to car audio installation and have attached the power wires according to the12volt.com's wiring specifications (haven't attached speaker wires yet) and for some reason when I try to turn it on it shorts the 7.5 amp fuse.  My car is a 1991 Honda Accord.  What would you suggest me doing to get this sucker working?

are the speaker wires touching together or any metal at all in the car?    does it only blow the fuse when you turn it ON or when you apply power?

I'm not for sure... I just assumed that it wouldn't matter about the speaker wires since they weren't going to be connected to anything.

HAHAHA I just tried it making sure that none of the speaker wires were touching and it worked!!!  Thanks!

ok another question.  I attached the two antenna wires together but it still won't go up when I turn the cd player on.  Is there some weird configuration that I need to add for it to work?  I know that when i touch the constant + to the antena wire that it goes up when the car is on.

Is it when you are on cd or radio, becuase the antenna wont go up if you have it on cd.

power antenna only goes up when the am/fm is being used. Pop in a cd, and the antenna retracts. Switch to the radio. Make sure the antenna works altogether.

Yeah it wouldn't go up even on radio.  I know the antena works because i could test it by just touching the two wires together.

Sounds like the wire on the deck doesnt work, check it with multi meter or a test light to ensure the output from the deck works

you dont have the trunk open do you? the accords, vigors, etc.  have a circuit that will drop the power antenna when the trunk latch is sprung, so the optional trunk lid spoiler doesnt snap off the antenna
