This is my first time doing an amp installation, I want to make sure I am doing it right.....

I have 2 rockford fosgate amp 250watts and 2 bass boxes with 10 rockford sub woofers.

2 gauge power wire from the battery to a distribution block.

8 gauge from the distribution block to the amps

run a ground distribution block for the amps.

Now do I connect a Y connector to the sub output on the back of the head unit?

Do i use a butt connector to connect the 2 rem wires together then run one wire to the back of the headunit?

You want to run one wire from the head unit and then take that remote wire go into the first amp then just jump a wire off that amp in to the next. If your radio has an independent sub out then take that set of rcas back to the first amp and use the line out of that amp to feed the second no need for a y connector.

while jumping from one amp to the other with the remote wire, you probly need to put a relay in the wire coming from the head unit to the amp on the remote wire to boost the signal strength. Do this because you dont need a weak signal.

I'm running 3 amps amd have grounded EACH one by themselves.

You want the shortest ground wire for each amp.

You will be safe by jumping the remote wire from the amps. But if you use the same remote wire to operate more than 4 itmes the I would add a relay to boost the voltage!
