I am trying to put a Eclipse deck in my 2004 Silverado 1500, the only problem is that the 2004 wiring harness doesnt have a deck turn on wire I have thought about splicing into another wire like from the AC control but the power wire there isnt a constant source of power, so has anyone run into this problem, or does anyone know a good way around the problem. Thanks

Jimmy

are you looking for an accessory power source? go to the fuse panel or the ignition wiring....

You guessed it...catch an Accessory wire or rubn to the fuse box directly. They new GM radios' work on a new one wire system for turn on.

if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway

Find the pink wire (ignition) in the wire harness that follows down the steering column coming from the ignition tumbler.  No offence either dude, but if it is installed by an authorized dealer then the warranty goes to 3 years and 1 year theft replacement, why on earth are you doing it yourself?

Thanks I was able to find that wire and it hooked up great. I had the head in a pass truck and i had to pull it out when i sold it. i didnt feel like spending the extra money to have someone put it in again. Thanks for the help.
