Ok I am pretty set on getting some MB Quartz PCE216 which handle 60 - 130 watts...

ok I have 2 older amps that will probably need to get upgraded but they are a

RF 400a4 which does
50 x 4 @ 4 ohms
100 x 4 @ 2 ohms
200 x 2 @ 4 ohms bridged

RF 360a2 which does
90 x 2 @ 4 ohms
180 x 2 @ 2 ohms
360 x bridged

I can get a Xtant a2002 which does
50 x 2 @ 4 ohms
200 x 1 bridged

or a diamond d5 300.2
75 x 2 @ 4 Ohm
150 x 2 @ 2 Ohm
300 x 1 bridged

now the xtant puts outs only 50 x 2 which seems a little under pwered

the RF 400a4 also puts out 50 or 200 which is too little or too much

the rf 360a2 puts out 90 x 2 which seems fairly decent

the diamond is a nice amp putting out 75x2 but its costly where i can get the xtant for about $100 and I have the fosgates....

whats the best amp to use here... also any recomended ones??

OK, first off you are trying to drive a set of component mains, so the only amplifier rating that means anything is the RMS rating into 4 ohms X 2.  Of the amps you have, use the 360a2.  But you also ask "what's the best amp to use" and that answer would be to use the amp with the cleanest signal regardless of power.  A Diamond Audio amp will blow away anything from Fosgate for mains, everytime.  As will Eclipse, Nakamichi, many Alpines, McIntosh, and several more high end brands.  RF amps tend to be great for subs.

what about a ppi amp putting out 125 x 2 @ 4 ohms

would you consider the ppi as high as the diamond or not?? Im trying to get fairly good sq... as in not spend $750 just for components....

so if I thre the PPI in there would you still say the diamond is supperior

PPI in general makes good quality equipment.  I have not tested anything from them since they were purchased by Directed, but they used to be one of the better brands.  They are in the same class as Soundstream or MTX.  PPI is far better than RF for mains, in my opinion.  But still a class below Diamond.  If you already spent the $300 on the MBQ components, give them clean power.

Ok then my last choice is between the d5 300.2 which gives 75 x 2 @ 4 ohms

or the d5 600.2 which gives 150x2 @4 ohms which is a little more then they can handle...

im wondering if there amps are underrated at all...

im leaning more towards the 300.2 to be safe unless you think the 600.2 will run them fine...

oh and thanks for all your great help!
