ok, the install went well (though I know the subs are not wired in 1ohm) I mean, according to the diagram you djorn sent me, when the DVC subs are wired for 1 ohm load, there's only suppose to be one neg & one pos wire coming oput of the sub box right fellas - ? Please help me proff this guy wrong - ! Also, the component speakers are not strong enough to keep up with a kicker 04kx650.4 which RMS per channel is 120watts into 4 ohms. The speakers I blew are the kicker K60 65 watts RMS 130 maxx - I think the amp is too strong cause when I put the vol up I hear distortion though the gains are set accordingly. Can someone recommend a pair of 6.5 speakers that can handle 120 rms minimum - ?
thanks fam -

Are you talking about me, because I don't recall sending you any diagrams...
In any case, what are you talking about? Your blew your mains? And if you "put the vol up I hear distortion though the gains are set accordingly" then I would have to argue that either your gains are NOT set according to any good practice, or your head unit clips.

I agree with DYohn. Because if he is wrong, then you have even more of a serious problem than blown speakers. With 125 watts to any component speakers, they should get loud enough to do some serious harm to your hearing, way before damaging themselves.

can someone suggest a pair of 6.5's with a min of 120 rms @ 4omhs - ? the kx650.4 can shoot 170x4 rms @ 2omhs. any suggestions - ?

The reason you blew your speakers is they are rated for 65 watts and you powered them with 120 watts. Blown speaker is a very likely outcome of that pairing. Bad amp choice for those speakers, or bad speaker choice for that amp.

So who actually makes 6.5's that can handle that kind of power - ?

Check out
your other thread. Not many 6.5" full range speakers can actually handle 120+ watts RMS, although several claim they can. In the component world you have more choices.
