We need more information. Do you want a system built for sound quality or do you want a system built for SPL (sometimes loud enough to blow out your windows in your car or truck). What kind of music do you listen to? What car or truck do you own?

What is SPL ? I listen everything, but does it matter ? I own a subcompact car ... I'd like to do competition, but I know, with 3000$can, I'll not go far ...

spl=sound pressure level (its the bass that you feel more than ne thing) if the vehicle is for competition only the music you listen to doesn't matter other wise it does. "subcompact car" can you maybe elaborate on that a little make, model, year.

well we dont yet know exactly what you want but if you already have the head unit you want to use you can do a good deal of damage with $2500

I want to be able to participate in competition, but I'm going to put it in my daily car, so it has to be a system that I could use in the streets ... is that possible ?

alright

if all you want is spl without a care in the world about the mids and highs..replacing the oem speakers..then you can have some fun with $2500 you could get a nice eclipse DA7232 with a pair of eclipse sw9122 for around $2500 american i believe there is many other setups that would satisify your crave for spl at around $2500 american... wait till tomorrow and you will get the professional reccomendations of some of the top guys on this forum im sure.

Who is doing the install. You or professionals? For 25oo dollars and since you wanna do spl Id follow a simple rule of thumb. There is no replacement for Displacement. I am assuming you wanna keep your back seat so everything is gonna have to fit in behind. I know for a fact you can fit 4 10's behind the seat of the accent in a sealed box provided they are optimized for small enclosures. I think Eclipse can fit in some small enclosures and as far as exact model numbers go I think Forbidden can cover that with you. Once you know what kinda drivers you want then you will know what kinda amps you need. If you are gonna use your alpine deck and will probally use 2 or more amps to run the subs I would suggest getting a line driver. I know Phoenix Gold makes a good one thats about 150 bucks canadian, PLD1 I think is the model number. Thats gonna boost you voltage going from the deck to the amps. With the budget you have I have to major suggestons. 1st let professionals do the install unless you are absolutly sure in your abilities. Beginners probally shouldnt be learning on 2500 dollars worth of equipment. Second upgrade your altenator. Your not gonna be able to successfully compete without getting more ampreage at your disposal. Once I get some specs on drivers Ill make a couple suggestions for amps. It would help to know whats avalible in your area of the country

Where in Canada are you? Is your budget just on equipment including taxes or is it an installed price including taxes, wire etc. At least we finally know that you want to go for SPL. But seeing as you are seemingly new to this, it would best to do this in baby steps, do not bite off more than you can chew. The big bad subs and amps are all good but an amp cannot make power unless it is given power, thus the carging system of the vehicle is going to need a major overhaul. Are you going to do this one step at a time or say screw it Rob, here is my cash what are you going to do with it. I and others can recommend lots of things for you, the trick is to match it together correctly and for it to be used properly. What is your idea of loud? Have you been to a contest before to get an idea of loud and do you have an idea of how loud it takes to cause permanent hearing damage. This should concern you.

I live in Quebec, and you ? Is there any contests in Quebec ?

Look, I have about $2500us for everything that makes sound, if I can tell it like this(amps, subs, car charging system etc) ... and about 500$ for the wires and all the rest of the equipment, if it costs me less, I'll use it for installation costs ... it's my friend (who know exactly what he is doing) who gonna make the installation so, for this side, it'll not be so expensive ... I know what I want and, at the same time, don't know ... I want to participate in spl contests, and win ! but, I'll use this car every day, until I can buy another one ... so it has to be, with strong volume, a winning system and, with low volume, maybe an extremely loud system, but I don't want permanent hearing damage ...

Is that possible ? and if so, when I'll buy a new car, will I be able to remove it and reinstall it in the new car ?

thx alot

Titaniums in Canada are hella expensive and he would really have to step up for an amp, this would kill his budget in a hurry. I'll work on something and post it up later on.

Is this setup could be great for what I want ?

2x Adire Audio Brahmas 12''

running on

2x mtx Thunder1501d ??

let me know what you think !

hmm sounds interesting...how about you get you some kappas up from which will run you about 300 for 2 pairs + add about an 85w eclipse amp to that...which i would guess is upwards of 300so killed 600us on highs alone guesstament which leaves you with 1900usd with that im guessing you could do good damage....btw are you looking at buying online or local shops? cuz that could also be a factor.... for subs id say go with some diamond audio TDX, Adire Brahma, JL W7, MTX 9500, or L7 4 10s of either one with proper amp on each of course....im guessing that would run you right up there... im saying 10s b/c you can fit more and its tighter bass imo

But are you saying that I should put 4 different subs ? And for spl competition, I really need all these highs speakers ? I should really go with 4 10s ? Somebody know where I can see if there is contests near my home ?

thx !

I just tested one of these.  DAMN.  You want the ultimate car stereo subwoofer?  Try this Magnat.  Clean, linear response down to a genuine 16Hz and 120db with 300 watts input.

Hey. If you are not worried about warranty or anything like that and want to get something LOUD for as cheap as possible, check out this system. Two 12 inch Audiobahn aw1208T subwoofers. running off an Audiobahna2300hct amp. The subs are 1500 RMS each and 3000 peak each (dual 2 ohm). the amp is 1200 watts RMS x 2 @ 1ohm. that would be killer. and with these prices that would bring you to about 1500 CND. Then you can buy a 180 amp alternator for about $500 to get the needed power to the amp. and you can then afford to get a professionally built box and instal done. and also you will need wires, fuse/holder, rca's. You can probably get all of this for around 2500-3000 CND.

Here's one for ya, Get 4 MTX Superwoofer tens, two 6001 MTX Mono Blocks, a pioneer 6600 and a pld1 phoenix gold linedriver. After tax your gonna be able to get into this for about 2500 bucks canadian and then you still have 500 bucks for front end and an amp for them. Gonna be a tight install but its gonna be loud as hell.

The Brahma's will work fine.  We have several people competing with them.  IMO they are one of the best SQL subs on the market (SQL= SQ and SPL mixed).  They get really loud, and sound great doing it.

That sub looks pretty interesting.  How much does it go for?  At 20", it must cost a lot.

Yea, it's right around 600 euros ($700 or so) retail I believe.  Awesome SQL (I like your term!)  Magnat does not currently have a US distributor, but they are available.  They also manufacture a 24" version of this that is around 1500 euros...
