Hi all,

MTX ROAD THUNDER RT12-04 12" SUBWOOFER

Bridge    300 W x 1

Rated Power  Output (4 Ohms)

Basicly i will build a vented box and put it behind my Toyota Camry (Sedan). Since the sub RMS is 200W and my amp only able to put out 150WRMS will there be a problems???? Is this a good match??sorry i don't know anything about audio so what you guys give me is really important...i know it's a bit of a mess reading it...but can you take a closer look at the specs and tell me whether to get the sub???

Thanks guys :)

That is the bottom of the line MTX sub. If you are on a tight budget, then pretty much your options are limited. That said, putting that woofer in a ported box would probably be your best option, unless you like the limited sound that comes from a bandpass box. I wouldnt expect window shattering performance though. If you can tell us how much you are looking to spend, i'm sure we can find you something alot better for you.

Ok say compared that sub with Kicker Comp which one is better???

WIth the power rating on my amp 150 WRMS i don't think i can make the windows shack.

Cheers :)

A Cerwin-Vega sub does well on 150 watts for a low price.  A HED model (also their low line) has a 22Hz Fs; 6 ft3 Vas; 17mm Xmax; 112oz magnet.  I use one in my family sedan and it sounds good in a sealed.  You can pick one up for 50-70 $.

No. I can't say that...don't know the cost, and haven't tried one.  Just recommending one that I know is efficient with 150 watts, which is all I give to mine.  Caused me to have to use a lot of sound dampening, I know that!   Available at  millionbuy.com

By the specs you listed I think the sub would be fine with 150 watts  I would personally look for more Vas, a lower Fs, and longer Xmax in a 12" woofer.   That's why I showed the comparison in the previous post.  You can't tell by specs, that is for sure, but if you can't actually hear everything available, it's something to look at.

I sell those subs and infact put one in a car yesterday for a customer. For the price point I think they are a very nice sub. I put in a rockford p1 tto start with in this customers car, a 2003 sunfire, and then I put the mtx in. Same ported box and everything and the mtx curbstomped the rockford. Its a  fine buy and should work well off that amp.
