What is the right way of installing a tweeter on the door (86 4RUNNER) ? I have MB 1uart QTC 25. CLick on Qtc 25 ON THIS PAGE to check the dimensions.

https://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/products/prod_detail.asp?isArchive=true&cat=&series=q%20series&strt=1&model=QM+215%2E61Q

Mine is the one with an angle. Does the tweeter remain completely on the outside (door trim)? There is a stud with a steel strip and a nut. Thanks! Also what is a good location for the tweeter in the following situations?

1. The midrange woofer is in the dash, kind of low ( 86 4runner)

2. The midrange woofer is in the lower front part of the door

3. The midrange woofer is in a kick panel

Or it does not matter!?

thanks!

For best imaging you wanna keep the tweeter and the woofer fairly close together and on the same axis. Is there room to build kickpods in this vehicle. I can remember what the floor looks like because I havent worked on one on a while. If there isnt then I suggest building door pods. If you dont know how to do that or dont wanna attempt it I suggest going to a local shop. Most guys around here charge about 150 bucks to do door pods and they generally sound pretty good.

Once you get the woofer mounted, take the tweeter and some duct tape and mount the tweeters in different positions in the vehicle. You will find that they sound way different in the different mounting locations.

Thanks, but what is the conventional or a good place to install the tweeter? ..Where would you put the tweeter?

Id put the tweeter at an angle right above or beside where the woofer is mounted with the door.

I hear different than you and drive a different vehicle now. I would tape the tweeter in a couple of different places and listen to them and then place them where they sound the best to me. Places to try, kickpanels, low on door by the mid, high on door above mid, top of dash near glass.
