i was wondering if i didnt bypass the factory amp in my car but integratted it what kind of power should i expect from it?? would it be the H/U power the amp power or a mix of both??

The amp will power the speakers, it does not combine the two. In most cases it sounds just fine, it is probably about the same power as that of a good cd player.

yea....its in the back right like above the wheel well u have to nearly disasemlbe the entire back of the truck.......ty forbiddin...i think im going to still bypass it b/c it makes my kappas sound like crap at higher volumes

i had that same problem with my mountaineer (explorer basically the same thing) i ended up running new wires to all the doors but u can just cut the line going to ur deck and the ones going to the speakers and just put the together i did this to my moms lincoln

Metra makes both amp integration kits for this vehicle as well as amp bypass kits... i usually find if you use the proper differential converter ( I use PIE ) for these vehicles then using the factory amp sounds good, no distortion, popping, etc.....

would it work properly if u bypassed the amp then cut the wires from the harness for the speakers then soldered or crimped those wire to more speaker wire directly to ur new amp......im pretty sure it would work but would it be the same as running new wires...b/c im to lazy 2 run new wires

well.... i would in theory be the same as running your own wires because it is speaker wire it just happen to have ben placed before i messed with it so y not use existing wire?? not like i was gonna use anybigger than whats there

Does anyone know how to find a "remote wire" in a 97 explorer? Trying to hook up my custom amp. Also heard that I can connect the remote wire to my power antenna...
