i think the model # is xm-444.  Someone told me that the ohm ratings don't match the subs, but i can't find the amps documentation anywhere..lemme know if you need more info..thanks for the quick responce

That amp is rated at 35 watts X 4 at 4 ohms or 80 watts X 2 when bridged into 4 ohms.  The only way you could use this amp with your subs is to connect one sub to each set of bridged amplifier channels.  If your subs are the 4-ohm version, they will receive 80 watts RMS, and if they are the 8-ohm versions they will receive about 40 watts RMS.  This amp is not a real good choice for these or any other subs.

A few decent mono sub amps that can be had in the $200 range are the US Acoustics USB-600D, Alpine MRP-M350, Directed 250D, Lightning B350.1.

do you know of any amps that'll push 200 watts to each sub?  Also (last question)  What kind of enclusure is best for these?  I have a bandpass and a ported enclosure lying around, but i'm unsure of their specs..thanks again for your help

I wouldnt recomend buying any of sonys amplifiers. Sorry to all you sony fans, persoannly the only thing I have ever had that was sony and was decent was a head unit and that was about 5 years ago.

As far as amps go your sub is single voice coil and 8 ohms you can get it down to 4 ohms. The amps im running now are kicker zr360's. They are old but theyre tanks. In my opinion. You can find them on ebay for under 200. You would get 360 watts with a 4 ohm load. Thats my two cents.

As far as enclosure you should look at what RF says about that. If you decide to use one of those boxes laying around then make sure they are the right size, both in volume and in ports.

I dunno what the specs are exactly on that amp, but it would most likely be over 200 dolars and it would probably be a bit powerful for your subs. If you have the money to get that amp, I would recomend getting new subs as well, or just use that amp on those subs. If you have the specs and the amp isnt much over 200 x 2 @ 4 ohms then plug it in and get your boom on.

If you have 2 8 ohm svc subs then you need a good size 2 channel amp like the Rockford P5002. It is a 2 channel amp that will bridge to 4 ohm mono and give no less than 500w rms. Parallel wire the subs to the bridged output of the amp and away you go. What you need is any 2 channel bridgeable amp that has a rms power rating of about 125 watts per channel into 4 ohms. There are tons to choose from.
