I have a Ford Taurus GL... I bought a new Sony Xplode 5705 for mp3 functions and a dash kit for the car as it is an oval shape... I have figured out all of the wiring to get me up and running except for one thing... After I hooked up the dash kit - it had no wires left over to use for my deck (receiver) I found this odd... I thought that some of the wires needed to be cut and fused into the decks wires... My question is what wires in the car do I need to hook up to the deck? and what are their colors - I just want to add this deck on my existing stock speakers... Please help...

I can't find that 5705 on the web.  Did you replace the stock radio with the Sony, and what wiring harness did you use?  What dash kit?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I  am replacing the stock cassette deck with the Sony (can be found here https://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item.pl?sku=SONCDXF5705X&vq_id=-21 - I got a Scosche FD10 wiring harness and a Scosche FD134030 installation kit (for the dash) - I found the wires and set it up... but it seems like no power is going to my receiver... I am still lost... I am going to attempt to have a real professional do it for me tomorrow...

I figured out everything and all is well!!! The problem with this damn car is that there is a mini amplifier in the trubk that controls everything.... I bypassed the factory car amp and hooked everything from the deck straight into the speakers and provided power and ground in the dash... boy what a project... goed thing I only had to do it once...

Awesome, and you saved the cost of going to a porfessional. Were you able to use the plug for the speaker outputs then, or did you have to splice? Thanks!
