ok, re-installed a system this weekend and still haveing the same problem.   when i run all four chennels of a volfenhag 7170 amp i get noise when i run only 2 and unplug the rcas i dont.    if i piggyback and run the same input to both channels no ambient noise. thought maybe rcas and ect but re ran all wires and it didnt work replaces the head unit and eq and still noise replaced the amp and still noise. I can run the rcas on the celing and as soon as i plug them in a get noise, all brand new equipment and all power wires were shielded with brown bread. the rcas are jl audio twisted pairs. this just irks me

Did you try replacing the RCA's on the "bad" send?  Did you try all four channels with the "bad" send and see if the noise moves to all four outputs?  Sounds like a bad shield lead on an RCA... but then again, it could be a mis-matched signal level.  How are the gains set?  Are the gains for both 'front" and "rear" channels on the amp set the same?  What is the input voltaege capability of the EQ?  Did you try simply taking the EQ out of the system?  Did you try with another brand of amp besides Volfenhag?  Did you try grounding the amplifier husing?  "power wires were shielded with brown bread"???  Brown bread is not shielding material, what do you mean by that?
