cool makes more money for you. anyways i bought 2 JL amps locally a 500/1 and the 300/4 for under 350$ for both. the 500/1 works fine. can anyone point me in the right direction on how i can get the 300/4 workin correctly again.

is there any type of a low impedence switch on the amp? if not and it's giving you this problem running in a no-load situation i would suspect a problem internally in the amp itself......

If the amp shut down on low ahms (which indicates either the speakers you have connected are too low impedence, are shorted out, or the speaker wires are defective) it will stay in this protection mode until you power cycle the amp. Turn it off, pull the main power fuse from your power cable, disconnect the speakers, re-install the fuse, and turn it back on. If the "low ohm" light is still on, the amp is fried and has probably been either operating beyond its capabilities (clipping) for a long tiome, or it has been physically damaged. It will need repair work. ------------- Support the12volt.com

Is it under warranty? If so, take it to where you bought it. If it's not under warranty, contact JL at www.jlaudio.com and find an authorized service center in your area. ------------- Support the12volt.com
