i got a somewhat older pioneer mp3 player.  I forget the model number but its the one with the 2 seperate displays, 1 analog display that opens and turns down to reveal a organic el display.  anyways the problem seems to be the connection of the front face to its backing plate.  when the problem first started, if you pushed down on the faceplate, it would turn on until you let go.  like the connection was bad.  now it wont even do that though.  has anyone heard of this happening?  if not any ideas on how to clean the connection?

Is it silver?  If it is then it might be an 8400mp or an 8500mp.  My brother had the same exact problem with his.  You can probably try cleaning the contacts between the face and the radio.  It didn't work for brother though.  You may need to have it serviced.

More than likely it is the DEHP8400MP. There was a problem with that happening on those radios that year. You will have to get it serviced. I would recommend contacting United Radio in New York, since they are the company that Pioneer contracted to do their repairs and refurbs.
