Ive got some alpine component speakers and im installing them to a 1994 Toyota Carina E. I have connected the woofers to the factory system. The woofers are on a board that is in the boot (trunk). But I am having trouble on where to install tweeters and whether to flush mount or surface mount. also what is the best way of getting most power out of the spekers.
The model of speakers are:
Alpine SPR-176A 200W PEAK. 50W RMS
Please can you get back to me ASAP.

DONT power the woofers only without the tweeters and crossover installed. This can damage or blow your crossover or woofer. From what it sounds like that is what you are doing but please correct me if i'm wrong. If you are mounting the tweeters in your trunk then flush mounting them would be the easiest thing to do. I would buy a small amp for your component set like the Eclipse EA2212 (scroll down to the bottom).

I had the same pair of Alpines. If you have the depth in which to install them (dashboard, deep A-pillar trim, etc...) put them in there, it'll look flush and clean. If not, surface-mounting will sound just as good and you'll have many options for imaging with the swiveling base.

Dude, these are component speakers designed to work together on the same axis if possible. This means that bothe the woofer and tweeter are infact looked at as one speaker. The woofer cannot and should not be mounted in the trunk, it is designed to mount in the doors or the kick panels and the tweeter in close proximity to them. Move the woofers. Or like was mentioned above, the tweeters can be mounted in the trunk area as well, a definite waste of a good pair of speakers. The best and most important speakers in a vehicle always go up front.
